Ok so having read the first couple pages of this article, let me sum this up for you folks. Basicly the new version of windows (to be released somewhere between 20xx and 2101) is going to be displayed using 3D rendering rather than standard 2D rendering that pretends to be 3D buttons & forms. Now the real question… is this good news or not? Well its a tough call right now but I’d say your typical Longhorn (codename for new Win) system is going to require a much beefier vid-card than previous ones. Which for someone like me, isn’t as much of a big deal, I’ve already got a good one for gaming. But if you are one of a few million people who prefer Solitare to Farcry and check email more than render complex graphics… well I think you see where I am heading. Congradulations for not stopping at making things better, MS, but for striving towards *bigger* and better.
