Posted by Aaron in : General , trackbackDid you know that scientists have pictures of stars that are 2 light-weeks from the very center of our universe? Before I convert that number to what would seem to be a huge number of miles, let me just point out that our galaxy is aproximatly 100,000 light-years in diameter.
Ok now for the conversions, 2 light-weeks is about 224,936,372,000 miles. One hundred thousand light-years is around 588,000,000,000,000,000 miles. I’m not going to try to give you a fraction to represent just how close to the center 2 light-weeks is, but note that if you tack 6 more zeros onto that number of miles, you still aren’t quite halfway on the overall diameter.
I believe this justifies pulling out my best Keano Reeves “whoa”.
