Posted by BatWeasel in : General , trackbackSince I’m home sick, Sasha and I have been watching TV most of the day and one show that came on is about couples that have lived through an affair and put their marriage back together - it was pretty interesting. The couple are interviewed along with their family and marriage counselor and it was amazing to see what they had gone through and stayed together. I was really enjoying it until I hit the fourth couple. It was a woman who cheated on her fiance (who she’d lived with for four years) with the MINISTER five days before her wedding! It was the most amoral thing I’d ever heard. She was gushing about how pure (!!??) their first.. umm… enoucounter was, and how their relationship was so honest (!!??). She ended up ditching the fiance for the minister the day before the wedding, and they eventually got married. They interviewed the minister’s family and they went on and one about how principled (!!??) the couple is, and how honest they are, so committed to the truth, on and on… and then they interviewed the woman’s family and they talked about how they were just so proud of her for having the courage to do the right thing (the right thing being to leave her fiance since she wasn’t feeling “in love” with him anymore). It’s bad enough that the couple is that twisted, but when their family is also ok with it? Dude…. I don’t even know what to say. Except that I hope I get better soon so I have something better to do than watch TV, I mean it’s Memorial Day weekend for cryin out loud!
