Whats up dog July 18, 2005
Posted by Aaron in : General , trackbackAt the end of my run this morning I was struggling mightily to dash up the final hill to the finish. Though I was tired I’d managed, true to form, to probably double my speed on it (ok so 2x slow is still slow). Its the last block, I was just passing the library…. ticka-ticka-ticka I hear the sound of claws on concrete. This black lab-sized dog easily lopes past me, gets about 5 feet ahead, then slows down a lot. Still struggling but now a bit amused, I pass it and continue… 20 more feet to go. Ticka-ticka-ticka…. It passes me again, at which point amidst my huffing and puffing, I took the time to tell the dog to quit taunting me with how easily it was passing me. Well I survived, crossed the stopping point and sat down for a second (some watching might have confused it for collapsing, but it really was just me sitting down). I convinced the dog to quit eating out of the mcdonalds bag that someone had left at the curb and to come over to me. I was sitting there sweaty and tired, scratching behind the dogs ears, when one of our clients pulled up. Turns out he’d been driving around looking for their dog for a while, and sure enough, I’d found him.
