Repelling soviet invaders, one compact car at a time November 28, 2006

Another example of a technology forgotten before its application could be reached. The application? Fending off soviet troops in Colorado? Equip the nearest car with armor plating, as some interesting individuals suggested back in 1940 (Original clipping). Maybe then those poor Eckert boys could have survived.

Dan just took this quiz and I commented and gave my results but I thought I’d post them here too just because well I’m bored and haven’t posted in a while.

You scored as Serenity (Firefly). You like to live your own way and don’t enjoy when anyone but a friend tries to tell you should do different. Now if only the Reavers would quit trying to skin you.

Serenity (Firefly)
69%
Babylon 5 (Babylon 5)
63%
Nebuchadnezzar (The Matrix)
56%
Bebop (Cowboy Bebop)
50%

Can you rescue me now? Good.

You may now return to whatever you were doing.

So this is web 2.0? May 8, 2006

Michael pointed out to me that this site’s animated gifs sure do look like web 1.0’s animated gifs. Along with their amazing animated gif’s, you may notice that they have “improved” on an annoying Web 1.0 concept and made a ticker with images! My one great disappointment with the site is the complete lack of spinning skulls or flame animations anywhere on the site.

Dan brought something excellent to my attention. I should mention though, this code monkey is more of a baked lays fan, I can pretend they are healthy(er) and keeps the keyboard cleaner.

Every time a ferret sneezes an angel gets covered in mucus March 30, 2006

At the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, ferret sneezes are frozen in tiny vials and locked up in a high-security chamber called an enhanced biosafety Level 3 laboratory.

One wonders how you collect a ferret’s sneeze. It seems it involves sedating it a bit and squirting water up my nose, which in my own personal trials, seems to work for humans as well. For the rest of the article (such as why they are doing this) go here.

Poetic Technologies: Aura

I’ve called dibs. While none of us are likely to have one, if there is one to be had I wanted to make it known that I get it first.
